Leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Turnbull
Malcolm Turnbull advocated for the Tarkine's Rainforests in the lead-up to his election to parliament in 2004. In 2007, as Federal Environment Minister, he put the Tarkine on the priority assessment program for Australia's National Heritage list and asked the Australian Heritage Council to assess the Tarkine's World Heritage values.
